First Week 2015

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I’m sure you noticed that very little came home during our first week.  That doesn't mean that we weren’t extremely busy learning! Let me share with you what we did during our first week of school! We created a class list of rules, made a class book about rules, learned procedures, began our poetry books, did the first page in our handwriting books, we learned a math game called Monster Squeeze, started in our Math journals with number writing practice, created All About Me books, learned how to do two of our morning work choices (rainbow writing and weekend writing), reviewed 10 kindergarten sight words, made a craft that helped us to review patterns, read many books, learned lots of new songs and so much more!

We will begin homework this week! We will start off slowly.

Homework:
Please start reading 15-20 minutes a night and study the sight words that I am sending home! I am sending home last years words so that you can review and also this year's words.  Please focus on just a few at time (about 5-10). I will start sending home my homework page next week! Spelling words won’t start for a couple more weeks.

I am still missing a few forms that were attached to the First Grade Handbook. Please return those ASAP! I can't wait to post our first day pictures and group shot!! Here is to another fantastic week in first grade!

Check out our blog and like us on Facebook!
E-mail me with questions!
